Not long ago ‘HH’ only meant one thing to me. Happy Hour. Recently though it’s come to stand for His Holiness, The Dalai Lama. If you know anything about him, you realize that the abbreviated street name is fitting because despite being a humble spiritual leader for the world, he’s also pretty damn cool. And funny.
Well, May 23rd he’s sharing his teachings in NY’s Radio City Music Hall. And I’ll be there. Because long before my 20zen outlook, I became both a fan and follower of his, in the spiritual and social media world, (yes, Double H is on Twitter).
So in preparation for the event, I set up the nifty little poll below to see how he fairs in the company of other individuals that I think are bad ass. I hope you’ll take a second to weigh in.

After a year and a half of doing my own thing, I’m jumping back in the agency ring as Senior Copywriter/Associate Creative Director at The Star Group in Philadelphia.
Why, when my Tweeting just gained explosive momentum, you ask? (I have a whopping 62 followers, thank you.) Because I’m a believer that two heads are better than one and three are better than two (and leaving the house to go to work every day gives me reason to buy more clothes).
But while I’ll be retiring my own gig, my husband continues to pursue his by blazing the streets of Philly with beautifully thought-out architecture. The company name is Fishtank, an architectural firm/think tank from the Fishtown area of Philadelphia. Check out the site. Pass the word along. And get ready to see some kick ass stuff to go into construction this summer.

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be an artist. But, as my parents gently pointed out to me early on, the life of an artist was far from lucrative. So instead I opted for the modern day art degree and fell in love with the beauties of typography, color and layout, and began my career as a graphic designer.
But it was on the train to and from my first job that I felt the most alive. Huddled against the window scribbling away—sketches, phrases, ideas, creations, poems. It felt organic.
The past 5 years have taken me to the big world of advertising as a copywriter. Yet, I’ve always wanted to revert back to “art” in the non commercial sense. And so, the 5 piece (mixed media/acrylic on canvas) collection below represents the fine artist, graphic designer and word smith within me.

It’s no secret I was anti-Twitter in the past.
Linked in is a no-brainer for the professional. Facebook I joined two years ago through the forceful hand of a good friend, the same friend that coerced me to join the instant messaging world.
I had no regrets about these decisions. In fact I felt on top of the social media world—until that same friend kept poking me to join Twitter.
It’s no coincidence that this same friend is a professional social media guru. So when she recently pulled out the big guns and argued how Twitter has proven time and time again to be a great benefit in the professional networking community, I resigned. If there’s one thing I’ve realized with my freelance venture, it’s the importance of getting—and keeping—your name and voice out there in the networking world.
So here’s to a whole new layer of Mang. Mang2010. Hope you’ll follow.

With so many people still feeling the effects of a busted economy, I’ve decided to embrace the following outlook for the new year and I invite you to share in it. Two thousand and Zen. It’s a simple concept really. Become the master of your own destiny. Focus on what matters. And most of all, enjoy the ride.
Happy New Year.

T-minus 4 days till my husband and I hit the road for our 40+day trek around the U.S. You might get a call for a place to crash or where to find some good local eats—or a job if we like what we’re seeing and decide to stick around. The pre-party. The after party. The swanky stay at the Hudson. Rubbing elbows with top creatives and an adrenaline rush that could inspire another week of all-nighters. Who cares if we didn’t win, right?

Groundhogdreams.com made Creativity’s Top 5 online. Not bad for day one after launch. Let’s hope the buzz keeps-a-coming. In the meantime, I’ll be riding out the waiting game in the fresh powder out in Vail, CO.

Smell that? It’s the sweet stench of a 17 pound cabbage roasting away in the wee hours of the night. That’s right. Halloween. Carny style. All the freaks came to this long-awaited event. Invitation done by yours truly. I cannot however, take credit for the brilliant 17 pound cabbage. Roasting it in the fire pit at 3am? Well, maybe.
